  1. Anyone else use multiple planners? I use three planers and two calendars. Started out thinking I would use them for keeping track of different projects/dates/etc.  Ends up I put the same date/appointment info in all of the planners/calendars.  Afraid I will miss something.  The sections of the planners do have different information - one planner would not be big enough to hold everything.  My Philofaxy planner goes with me when I travel - love it.  A small paper calendar is in my purse at all times - husband has many doctors appointments and is used to make next appointment in doctors office - than I transfer this info to all planners and other calendar when I get home.

Can not think of away to cut back on planners.  Maybe I just need to live with it.  It is working for me.  Interested it how others use planners.

    Thanks - Kathleen

    1. Hi Kathleen,

I also use multiple planners. I wrote about it here: https://philofaxy.blogspot.com/2017/01/reader-under-spotlight-graham.html . Currently I have a diary in a Filofax zipped Cuban personal, which remains open so that I always see what's coming up; a Staples Arc A5 which I use for notes; and a Filofax Mini Finchley which I take with me and so contains things I have to do or buy on my travels. Next year I'm moving the diary to a (different) Staples Arc A5 but I think I'll always use multiple planners - everything in one place just doesn't work for me.

  3. Has anyone had any experience using an A4 size Filofax or other brand planner? Would you recommend it and why yes/not?

    1. A4's are good because you can simply punch normal office pages with a readily available 4 hole punch and insert the pages in to it.

I've found because of the 'page acreage' you can easily get away with Week on One Page. Week on Two pages would be an overkill really!

All of the Philofaxy A5 inserts are in fact A4 in size so there are plenty of inserts available to download and print and punch yourself.

Carrying an A4 isn't too bad as long as your bag is big enough!

The main disadvantage for me is the size of them when open on your desk. They do take up a lot of desk space when open. And as my A5 stays open all the time at my desk this is the one factor that stopped me using A4 on a regular basis.

Deskfax is another popular alternative, slightly smaller than A4 but bigger than A5, the main issue for me with these is obtaining B5 size paper, although it would be possible to have some A4 cut to size I guess.

  4. Thank you for your reply! I find the idea of an A4 quite appealing and being able to get away with week on one page saves ring space, plus the advantage of the large page to write on. I've been thinking of getting one to use as planner, journal and sketchbook and keep using my A5 for everything else. Unfortunately there are very few videos and posts on A4 planners to get inspired from!
